The AED Center for Family Health Web site is under development.

About the Center

The mission of the AED Center for Family Health is to improve family health and wellbeing, with a special emphasis on the health of mothers and children, through an integrated approach incorporating policy, service delivery, and community aspects. A "life cycle" perspective is emphasized which includes preparation for motherhood, interventions to ensure a successful pregnancy, safe delivery, perinatal and infant care, child survival and development, and reproductive health. Through our work with LINKAGES and other projects in the AED Global Health, Population, and Nutrition Group, we have developed experience and expertise in integrated field approaches (such as MTCT efforts in Zambia combining facility-based and community-based approaches), mainstreaming with PVOs, operations research, community-based women-centered programs, and documentation and dissemination of results.
